This is our go-to beans and rice recipe. Gallo Pinto is a common dish served in Costa Rica and Nicaragua. The Worcestershire sauce and ginger give this beans and rice dish a unique smokey flavor. The Costa Ricans are known to serve Gallo Pinto aside eggs or meat. We typically enjoy it as a main dish. My kids like to garnish their Gallo Pinto with cheese and sour cream.

Yummy! I will have to remember this recipe, as I’m always looking for different things to do with beans.
This looks so good! I love dinner recipes simple enough to do any night of the week and this defiantly is one for a hectic day! And all the ingredients are ones I usually have on hand. Thanks for sharing!!
This one looks like one we’d really enjoy and easy enough for a weeknight!
Jen, I’m glad you can use it! Thanks for leaving a comment.
This is a great recipe … I just add a little coconut
Milk to make it a little more authentic. I also put gobs
Of fresh cilantro in it – not just garnish.
Coconut milk and cilantro sounds wonderful. I’ll have to try that next time. Thanks!
